Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
By Jennifer Schefke
Who doesn’t love a warm chocolate chip cookie? I know I do. It is no coincidence that my favorite character of all time is Cookie Monster, a fellow lover of chocolate chip cookies and the theme of my milestone 50th Birthday party. I have been using this recipe for close to 25 years and it is always a crown pleaser. I make them for the holidays, birthdays, or anytime life calls for a cookie. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 ½ cup butter (softened)
1 ¼ cup sugar
1 ¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 eggs
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
4 cups chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Combine all your dry ingredients into a bowl. (4 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking soda, ½ tsp salt) and set aside
- In a separate bowl use a hand mixer or stand mixer to combine the butter and sugars (1 ½ cups butter, 1 ¼ cups sugar, 1 ¼ cups packed brown sugar)
- Add your vanilla to the sugar and butter mixture and mix until combined (1 tablespoon vanilla)
- Add your eggs, one at a time and mix until combined (2 eggs)
- Add your dry ingredients into the sugar and butter mixture and mix until fully combined to make the cookie dough, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed to incorporate all the dry ingredients.
